This site carries no advertising, no affiliate links and no sponsored content. Nothing on it is written in exchange for payment, and no company has approved or reviewed any page.
Why there are no lender links
Referring readers to lenders for compensation is a licensed activity in a number of states, and it is also the thing that quietly bends advice. Not doing it removes both problems at once.
How pages are written and checked
Every page is checked before publication against a fixed set of rules: no interest rate, fee or APR figure; no invented statistic or cited study; no claim of personal experience; and, on any page describing a legal right, a named statute or agency source. A page that fails is rewritten rather than published.
If this changes
If the site ever carries commercial links, this page will say so before they appear, and they will be marked where they appear rather than disclosed only here.
